【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesamethodforthedeterminationofthenitrogensurfacearea(NSA)ofcarbonblacksandotherrubbercompoundingingredients,likesilicasandzincoxides,basedontheBrunauer,EmmettandTeller(BET)theoryofgasadsorptionusingamultipointdetermination.Thistestmethodspecifiesthesamplepreparationandtreatment,instrumentcalibration,requiredaccuracyandprecisionoftheexperimentaldata,andcalculationofthesurfacearearesultsfromthedataobtained.Alsogivenisaprocedureforcalculatingthestatisticalthicknesssurfacearea(STSA),otherwiseknownastheexternalsurfacearea.Thetestmethodspecifiedusesanautomaticvolumetricstatic-vacuumapparatus,thesurfaceareabeingcalculatedusingtheBETtheorybasedonmonolayermeasurements.Themethodcanalsobeusedforverifying"single-point"proceduresdescribedinISO4652-1andotherstandards.Theautomaticinstrumentsdescribedinthesestandardsperformallthenecessarycomputations,includingthatofthesurfaceareabasedonstatisticalthickness.However,theautomaticpoint-settingproceduresusedarenotapplicabletotheSTSAmethod.NOTEAutomaticinstrumentsbasedoncontinuousflowusingmixturesofnitrogenandheliumgasinvariousratiosarealsoavailable.Asgoodastheyare,itishighlydesirabletoverifytheiraccuracyofmeasurementagainstresultsobtainedfromstatic-vacuum-typeinstruments.
